Planning for the new landscape began before the house was even finished.
The first addition to the landscape was the pond.
Perennials and water plants highlight the pond and soften the stone edges.
A flagstone patio was created along with a stream bed to control drainage from the backyard area.
Next, a cedar pergolla was added to provide shade.
Pathways unite the house with the new patio and the driveway.
The final result creates a natural looking retreat that can be seen from inside or enjoyed from within the garden.
After many years of enjoyment, the pond was renovated and deepened to allow for the addition of koi and to create a more dramatic waterfall.
In this phase, the bed area in front of the patio was also completed including the addition of a fountain. Minimal plantings were added to give the homeowner a place to garden.
Front yard landscaping was also included in the initial installation.
Shrubs and perennials were planted to create a soft and natural look.
Crape Myrtles, perennials, and annuals add color each season.
