Prior to renovation, the house was hidden by overgrown, mostly evergreen shrubs. We removed the Junipers crowding the entrance, along with most of the evergreen plant material filling the beds.
While the structural trees remained, much smaller evergreens, flowering shrubs, and perennials were used to reduce the overcrowded feeling and add much needed color.
The entrance along the driveway was filled with evergreen and flowering groundcover.
Azaleas and spring blooming perennials were added to the shady area to complement the existing flowering Indian Hawthorns.
The urn color for the fountain was chosen to match the brick as well as the newly planted roses.
Renovation began in the pool area with the removal of outdated plant material in the raised planter.
Softer and smaller plant material was added and river rock was used to aid in drainage.
Small pockets of annual color, roses, and herbs were planted around the perimeter of the pool.
